Huge Giveaway and Spooky Aging Technique

Happy Friday all!!  My apologies for the delay in post, always takes longer to do things than hoped!!Today I have a HUGE giveaway planned and some step by step photos sharing the "spooky aging technique" used for my Creepy Countdown Calendar..  So let's not waste any time!!

Now onto the Spooky Aging Technique
 To get started you will need:
Matte Black Acrylic Paint
  Thick Matte Gel Medium
Paint Brush
White Acrylic Gesso
Small Scrap Flexible cardboard
Heat Gun(optional)

Step 1 Too get started paint desired object black
Allow paint to dry then move onto step 2

Step 2: Using a small bent piece of flexible cardboard, gently fold in half to make a scoop
Scoop up small amounts of Gel Medium, and Scrape DIRECTLY onto project.




*Note, for more texture allow to dry in clumps or piles.  But allow ALOT more drying time, you may speed the process some with an Embossing gun.
Matte Medium will look clear when dry

Step 3: Paint over top of gel medium using your matte black paint.  Hiding any traces of Gel Medium
Allow paint to dry, will only take a few moments


Step 4:  Using a dry paint brush, pick up a small amount of White gesso and "drybrush" over top texture.  Making to sure move your brush strokes in different directions and never picking up much white..

Continue step 4 repeatedly till you reach desired effect
