Graphic 45 Magic Of Oz Wall Decor

Happy Monday!! Hope you all had an outstanding weekend full of joy!  Today is officially the first bus ride and full day of Kindergarten for my daughter Skyler!!  Sitting here a little teary eyed, excited and scared for her all at the same time.  Hoping she has better school experiences than I did, and just sad she has grown up so fast.  Where does the time go???

Well if I have anything to do with it, it goes to creating, creating, creating after spending as much time possible with family.  And today I have a one of a kind creation to share with you!
Lately I have been really hooked on creating dimensional wall art.  Dabbling a little here and there since last year, I have found that truly, Graphic 45 makes the best papers for this occasion.  With images that are so unique, romantic, playful and just great for telling a story.
And what better story to tell than the Magic of Oz!

Created using dimensional letters, set on a classic black textured Coordinations/Graphic 45 Cardstock, making the colors really pop.  All set inside of a 12x12 frame.  But what makes this so fun, are all the little cut Graphic 45 images and the yummy Imaginarium chipboard!

Instead of spraying my chipboard pieces with a glimmer mist, I used Smooch to paint right over top giving it a great solid, bright shimmer that doesn't look washy!
*TIP* when placing dimensional objects in hands of pop dotted images, stick the object directly into the pop dot foam.  This will help give it support!

These fun little Ruby Slippers can be found at www.Gardenspellghosttale.etsy.com

Love the little banner that says "The Great, The Terrible, The Wizard", cut out of Goblin Gazette.
Just fit so perfect on his hot air balloon.  And the way he is speaking and pointing he looks like such a tyrant!

And what Oz Collage would be complete without Flying Monkeys????
Flying over a bright moon ascending over blackened clouds.

There is definately No Place Like Home to hang these fun wall hangings!!

Make sure to drop by Graphic 45 to see what you can win this week, and check out the other amazing Wall  projects by the Lovely Gloria Stengel and Lynnette Caroll!

Thanks so much for stopping by on this Beautiful Monday!!
Look forward to a few more creepy aging techniques on Wednesday, and maybe a few more tricks along the way!  Love this time of year!
Have an inspiring day!!!

The Return of the Skele Ele - More pull toy ideas!

Happy Tuesday all!!  Today I would like to share with you some variations that I created of my Elephant pull toy first designed in early June for G45.  But first I would like to thank everyone who helped to make the G45 /Want 2 Scrap Blog hop a wonderful success!!
I can't thank everyone enough for all your amazing support and out of this world comments!!
Truly humbles me to have so many wonderful people in my life!
Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

OK now I would like to answer some questions that came up from the blog hop..
First question I saw a lot of was, "Where do you get all your fun things"?.  Well I have to be honest and say that I just went shopping at my Mom's house, through all of her wonderful collections.  She has been a lover of Halloween for as long as I can remember and has always collected new and vintage!
But I know you can't just go shopping at my Mom's, so here are a few good places to keep an eye out!
1.Look at dollar stores and craft stores during the season, they always have all kinds of little decorations.
2.  Those specialty pop up Halloween shops that always open just for the fall
or year round ones like Cappels in the Ohio Area!
3.  Don't pass over Target of Walmart, they pull in alot of fun small items in for the seasons too!
4.  Antique shows and Craft shows.  Though vintage Halloween items can be extremely expensive sometimes you can find amazing deals!
5.  Doll house miniatures are great for this sorta thing too
6.  And last, there are TONS of suppliers on Etsy and Ebay selling new and old items, Halloween is super hot on BOTH sites!

The second question I saw lots of was " How did you create the "crusty"  look to you box"?
Well this is something probably easier shown then done.  Will have a tutorial posted with pics up Friday @ 11am EST with a BIG GIVEAWAY Announcement,  so make sure to stop back to find out how it is done and what you could win!

Now onto some circus fun...

Meet Ella, the tight rope walking elephant with style!!  Dressed to her best with her little pink tutu, and tiny handmade paper flower behind her ear.  Ready for the show, with classy umbrella in hand Ella takes to the stage high above!

There is just something adorable about that big pink elephant bum sticking out of a tutu!!

Available for purchase here: Can even be created with your custom colors!
Please Convo or email me with any ideas or questions!

This is The Skele Ele!    Dressed and ready for a night of haunting! With his spooky skeleton suit, and Skeleton mask he is sure to get a scare! Atop his head he is wearing a worn top hat, adorned with a tiny metal gear and feather. And along with him, he brings the gift of a pumpkin freshly chosen from the patch!

Love his little worn top hat!
  Created out of cardstock..

Wanted him to look like he was wearing a skeleton suit, but the only way to do this was to paint it on.
Being not much of a painter, I was really worried about having to paint small details.
All in all I think he turned out pretty darn good!
But my favorite part are his skull wheels that spin as he rolls, so delightfully wicked!!

He is also available for purchase at my etsy store:

Off to finish prepping for a class, take pictures and create, create, create!!
Thanks so much for stopping by and don't forget to come back Friday for a little inspiration and a giveaway!! .
 Have an oustanding day!

Day 2 - Graphic 45 & Want 2 Scrap Blog Hop

Welcome all to an amazing Tuesday filled with tons of inspiration!!
If you haven't already heard, Graphic 45 and Want 2 Scrap have joined up for an "out of this world" blog hop.

And don't forget to visit BOTH their Facebook sites for even more prize giveaways this week!

So on that note, I would just like to say, buckle up and enjoy the ride!  I believe we are in for an outstanding week of artistry after seeing yesterdays stunning creations and can only dream of what is to come . Plus, combining Graphic 45 with Want 2 Scrap AND prize giveaways... things couldn't get any better!!
Now onto my creation...

Confession Time:  I have never been  much of a mini book maker, it takes me WAY too long to finish one..
So instantly when I saw these yummylicous chipboard doors from Want 2 Scrap, I knew they had to be doors leading to something!  But  Doors of what?  To where?  Being a HUGE Halloween junky along with my 5 year old daughter and a lover of all things altered, I decided they were doors to a crypt!!  Built into a shadowbox, making the perfect Creepy Count Down Calendar!  Complete with nesting crows, tiny books and potions, drawers for candy and even a hidden door!

The shadowbox used to create this is Kaiser Craft's Advent Calendar. It came complete with the drawers and dividers for 24 spaces. Which makes it extremely versatile in creating a mix of different sized display boxes. And it was almost the perfect size for the Want 2 Scrap chipboard doors. After a few adjustments.. building and installing some chipboard door frames...
Truly meant to be, even the Kaiser chipboard numbers fit perfect on the Want 2 Scrap Fleur De Le !

Displayed around the outside of the doors are tons of fun little Halloween goodies and found objects of new and old!

G45's doorplates make the perfect doors for shadowboxes too!!  Just attach your hinges directly to your door plate using E600 and glue wherever a door is needed! (If only life were that easy!)

And hidden inside.....

An Eyeball and bones, some fun found objects and a hungry vulture...

And now for my favorite part of all!  Behind those Haunted Want 2 Scrap Doors...

Love the "Proper Gentleman" with the skull over his face, soo creepy!!
Graphic 45 really does create the best papers for so many occasions, and never forgetting Halloween!  So many lines that work, this project uses 6 different G45 lines in total!!  Mixed with their fun
co ordinations papers and metal staples, the possibilities are endless!!
